Talis Aspire Digitised Content (TADC) gives the user the option to override the concierge response on referred requests to 'source request'. This provides 4 options on a drop down menu. This support article explains what each of these options means.
1. Resource available from the library
You may have the item in your library but it has not been allocated a Local Control Number (LCN). You are able to select that the resource is available in the library which will open up a comments box to add the detail. TADC will then allow a scanned copy to be uploaded to the request and update the work log accordingly.
2. Source from Inst. Non-library copy
This option is where you have sourced the copy from an item not owned by the library, for example, a copy of a book which is the academics own which they have requested to be digitised from their reading list. You are able to select that the resource is available which will open up a comments box to add the detail. TADC will then allow a scanned copy to be uploaded to the request and update the work log accordingly.
3. Source from British Library
This option will look up the price and availability within the British Library Document Supply Service (BLDSS), using your EHESS account and enable you to place an order. You are able to place British Library orders where the resource is held by the institution, known as “Library privilege” ordering. If you would like Library privilege ordering enabled, please let us know so that we can enable it for your tenancy (see links below). TADC will update the work log accordingly.
4. Manual British Library Order
This option is equivalent to the manual option present prior to the integration with the British Library. It should be selected where orders have been placed outside of TADC - this may be because the integration is not enabled. Where the integration is enabled, it is there as a backup for scenarios where the British Library API is unavailable within TADC.
