Talis Elevate is configured to send you a weekly email with an analytics summary for every module that you teach. This allows you to easily monitor student engagement with your teaching resources.
When you receive the emails
You can control when the emails are sent to you. Once logged into Talis Elevate, click on your name in the top right of the screen and choose 'Notification settings'.
This opens the popup where you can adjust the level of notifications you receive when comments are made, and the 'Weekly analytics delivery'. Use this option to select which day of the week you wish to receive these emails to best fit in with your workflows. Note: You can also choose not to receive them at all.
What's in the email?
Each module you teach will generate a separate email, giving you an at-a-glance overview of student activity. You will receive:
- Title of the module
- Dates covered by the analytics
- Number of active students
- Number of class comments
- Number of personal notes
- Average time spent looking at resources. From July 2021 onwards, this is calculated by students who have actively accessed the resource as opposed to the number of students you have identified as being part of the module.
You'll also be able to see a resource-by-resource breakdown of activity, together with a link to each resource if you want to explore further. A list of inactive students (those who haven't logged in recently) is also provided.
At the base of the email is also a link so you can go directly to the module manager for that course.
Inbox Rules
All emails sent from Talis Elevate originate from the noreply@talis.com domain, so if you're not receiving the emails then do check that they haven't been routed to your junk folder, or been blocked by your institution's firewall. If you receive lots of emails, you may also want to create a rule so that they are redirected from your inbox into their own separate folder.
