For staff and students in health and life sciences, journal clubs are a common way of co-creating knowledge. Traditional journal clubs however can be overly didactic and consequently fail to engage all participants (McGlacken-Byrne, 2020). When journal clubs take place in a flipped format, Talis Elevate will facilitate the process.
Uploading journal club literature to Talis Elevate allows discussions to begin before a group gets together, and persist after they break apart. Talis Elevate also allows the user to make personal notes visible only to themselves, meaning journal club attendees are better able to prepare themselves for in-person discussions.
Suggestions
• Share your journal club article using Talis Elevate in advance of the group meeting
• Start the conversation on Elevate, and make note of points you wish to pick up in person
