Read the Q&A below answering questions we ran out of time to answer during the webinar:
Supplier Integrations and Acquisition Workflows
- Will Talis Aspire remain a 'neutral' platform that integrates with a range of suppliers and systems?
Yes, Talis Aspire will remain a neutral platform that integrates with a variety of suppliers to give our library partners the freedom to choose their preferred suppliers (i.e., GOBI or ProQuest etc.). We also remain open to integrating with new suppliers at the request of our library partners.
- Will resource discovery workflows in Talis Aspire continue to deliver ‘best-match’ results, rather than favouring Kortext or commercial partner resources?
Yes, Talis Aspire will remain a ‘neutral’ platform and display ‘best-match’ results from all our integration partners. Talis Aspire currently does not integrate with Kortext but if/when it does so in future, it will not prioritise Kortext or commercial partner resources.
Product Roadmap and Development
- Has the immediate product roadmap changed for this year?
No, we are continuing to develop Talis Aspire in line with our same 2025 roadmap plans.
- How will Kortext’s acquisition impact future developments to Talis Aspire?
We are excited for what Kortext’s long-term investment and innovation will bring to enhance Talis’ core features, expand compatibility with library systems, and benefit from ongoing investments in AI. We are currently planning the development roadmap for next year. Register for the next Product Update Webinar on 4th December here to learn more.
- Where can I learn about the product roadmap, and is it publicly available?
The roadmap is not currently publicly available on the Talis website. However, customers can learn about the roadmap in their usual support calls or by registering for the next Product Update Webinar here.
- Can customers continue to input into future developments via the Ideas Portal and customer voting system?
Yes, we moved to a new Talis Ideas Portal after the acquisition, but customers can log in using their same account to submit and vote for ideas.
- Will ideas previously submitted to the Ideas Portal be honored?
Yes, while previous ideas won’t display in the new portal, we still have full records of all previously submitted ideas, votes, and contributors.
Data Privacy
- How will data from customer tenancies of Talis Aspire be used by Kortext?
We remain open and honest about how we use your data, which you can read about in our Privacy Policy.
Analytics, Reporting and Advanced MIS
- Are there plans to enhance Talis Aspire’s analytics functionality?
Yes, it is in the existing product development roadmap to enhance the analytics available within Talis Aspire to provide deeper insights and improved reporting for all our customers.
The Advanced MIS Module is also available for those customers who want to get deeper business intelligence insights from their reading list data.
