Introduction
Universities are using a wide variety of strategies to support the wellbeing of their students, and in doing so supporting their mental health, which is seen to benefit both their studies and everyday life.
Following the positive feedback from the ‘Designing and Creating a Wellbeing Space’ webinar, presented by the University of Birmingham in November last year, this webinar, presented by the University of Exeter, shares how they have made a concerted effort to make wellbeing an important part of each student’s experience whilst at university.
During the summer of 2019, the University has been exploring ways in which they can use reading lists to positively encourage wellbeing. In this webinar Simon Foote, Library Liaison Officer, and Lee Snook, Academic Liaison Librarian, share the approaches that the University Library has taken to support students wellbeing, including an online LibGuide and working closely with AccessAbility colleagues.
Simon and Lee shared what they have learnt from the experience; its success or otherwise and what is planned for the future of this initiative.
If you would also like to share approaches your institution has taken to support students wellbeing, we would love to hear your examples!
