Assigning a Creative Commons copyright license to your tenancy and reading lists

Introduction

During implementation, you will have selected a default Creative Commons copyright license to be applied to your lists across your tenancy. It is also possible to assign this on a list by list basis.

What licenses are available?

You can choose from:

  • All rights reserved
  • Attribution (CC BY)
  • Attribution-ShareAlike (CC BY-SA)
  • Attribution-NoDerivs (CC BY-NC)
  • Attribution-NonCommercial (CC BY-NC)
  • Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike (CC BY-NC-SA)
  • Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs (CC BY-NC-ND)
  • Public Domain

More detail on the licenses can be found here.

How are these applied to my tenancy?

Tenancy wide: You can set a license as a default across the whole of your tenancy and this is then applied at the bottom of all reading lists.

Individual lists: You can set a license for each list but giving a role in your tenancy permission to "Assign the license". You may want to set this for those with the System Admin role so that you have a default University license but if requested by an academic you can change for only their lists.
